Club Boat Hire
As a service to Members, selected Club owned sailing boats can be hired at no cost for short-term use.
RGYC currently has a fleet of Optimists, Pacers and ILCA Dinghies (Lasers). These boats comprise our Discover Sailing and Learn to Sail fleet. When they are not used for these activities, they can be hired by Members.
Club Boats can be booked under the following conditions.
Boats can be hired during the following times:
- During club programed training and support sessions
- During RGYC racing sessions
- During Sailing Office hours:
Tuesday – Friday 09:00 am to 04:00 pm
Saturday 09:00 am – 12:30 pm - Outside of the above hours when a support vessel (powerboat or another sailing boat) is accompanying the hired boat on the water.
The booking must be made by a financial Member of RGYC. The boat must be in this person’s control at all times. All non-members must obtain a SailPass for the day of the hire before the use of RGYC boats.
Bookings must be made at least 24 hours prior to use and approved by the RGYC Sailing Office via email confirmation.
The RGYC Sailing Office has the right to refuse any booking based on other uses of the club boats or perceived danger to either the users of the boat or the club. RGYC Sailing Academy and courses will take priority over Member bookings.
Booking confirmation will be made via email, and one of our Sailing Office staff or Off-the-beach members will be in touch with you to coordinate accessing the boat and sails.

Create your booking via the RGYC Bookings page HERE.
To see the list of available boats, log in using the LOG IN link in the top right corner of the screen. Please note, these are your Australian Sailing log in details. If you do not know these details, click the LOG IN link and then click FORGOT LOGIN DETAILS?.
Click Book this item and fill in the required details, noting the above requirements for the use of club boats.
Click Confirm booking to place your booking with the RGYC Sailing Office.
Please add in the NOTES field any supporting evidence, such as sailing experience and support boats on water.
