On Sunday the Club hosted its first RGYC Ladies Networking and Welcome Event with 59 female members and their friends attending.

A special friend of the Club and great supporter of our initiatives, Christine Couzens MP, State Member for Geelong and Parliamentary Secretary for First Peoples, enjoyed some down time with the group.

Member for Geelong, MP Christine Couzens with RGYC Board Member Laura Cora

There was fun and laughter and everyone had a chance to mingle and get to meet new likeminded ladies. It was fantastic and refreshing to have members take the microphone and share their experience and the ‘why’ they feel RGYC is a great place to be.

The upcoming Change Our Game program was presented to the group with quite a few already putting their name down to participate. The group was given the fun challenge to find a catchy name for the program, with the ‘ Sassy Sailing Sisters’ winning the pool and securing the pink hat and neck warmer kindly donated by Discount Yachting.

The feedback received post-event was overwhelmingly positive, with a common theme around ‘it’s great to get together and look forward to do it again’.

A big shout out to RGYC member Maryanne Fletcher who created, prepared and served two amazing and successful cocktails, ‘Pink Me Up’ and ‘Green Lantern’. Lynne Johnston’s icebreaker was fun and engaging and a big thank you to Lulu Di Sciascio for leading it in her absence. Fiona Tremaine also entertained us with a fun mathematical and lateral thinking game which shows the ladies had all the right answer! A big thank you to Jan Neeson for the amazing pictures!

This is the first of a series of fun networking events so stay tuned for more!
