Explore the joys of sailing with Tackers, our introductory, games-based program designed for kids aged 7-12. Developed by Australian Sailing, Tackers makes sailing an accessible and fun adventure. It’s an excellent opportunity for kids to socialise, make new friends and enjoy the summer outdoors.

Ready to ditch the homework and hit the water? OutThere Sailing is all about fun, friends, and freedom on the bay! Perfect for teens aged 12-17, this program is designed for those who want to learn sailing in a non-competitive, relaxed setting. No experience needed—just a love for adventure!

Learn to sail in a way that suits you, either in a stable keelboat with a crew or in a hands-on dinghy where you take the controls yourself. Both pathways are fun, safe, and built to grow your confidence step by step with support from our instructors. If you are not sure where to start, come along for a Discover Sailing session and we will point you in the right direction.

Learn the practical basics of handling a powerboat, or advance your skills ready to take an on-water safety role in one of our Club sailing days.

RGYC hosts regular First Aid & CPR, Marine Radio and other training & accreditation courses to assist you in your sailing journey.
The RGYC Sailing Academy is proudly supported by the RGYC Foundation. For more information about the RGYC Foundation and their work to Foster the sport of sailing in Geelong, view their website.
