In case you missed the memo, this October marks a monumental milestone for the Royal Geelong Yacht Club—our 100th anniversary of receiving the prestigious Royal Warrant. To celebrate, we’ve lined up a series of exciting events and activities throughout the month, both on and off the water, and we can’t wait for you to join in the fun! Here’s a quick rundown of what’s happening:
What’s On This Month?
Saturday, October 5th – Season Open Day
This Saturday, we kick off our 100th sailing season since receiving the Royal Warrant! The Season Open Day will be packed with activity, so make sure you’re part of the action. The day begins with formalities from 12:30 PM, followed by our iconic Sail Past at 2 PM—be sure to check out the Sail Past instructions now available on the club website. After the day’s events on the water, relax and enjoy live acoustic music by Noah Vernon at 3:30 PM. Plus, members can collect their 2024 Corinthian at the Club.

Saturday, October 12th – Centenary Celebration Ball
Our highly anticipated Centenary Celebration Ball is just around the corner, and tickets have sold out in record time! This Roaring 20s-themed event will transport you back in time for the party of the century. With an elegant 3-course sit-down meal and live performances from the impressive 10-piece Big Bash Band, it’s sure to be an unforgettable evening.

Saturday, October 26th – RGYC Centenary Celebration (Public Day)
We’re opening our doors for the RGYC Centenary Celebration, a family-friendly day for members, friends, and the public to come together and celebrate this milestone. From 10 AM to 3 PM, there will be activities for all ages, including soft play, kids’ entertainment from Brendan the Balloon Man, and live performances from several bands, including the Royal Navy Jazz Band.
This is a perfect opportunity to connect with the wider community, showcase our club, and encourage new memberships. So, invite your friends, family, and anyone who loves a good time by the water!

Royal Warrant Centenary Twilight Club Racing Series
To mark our Royal Warrant Centenary, we’ve added a special sub-series to our TLC Aged Care Twilight Series. These Royal Warrant Centenary Twilight Club Races will be held every Wednesday night throughout October, offering competitors the chance to win unique trophies and awards. If you haven’t entered yet, there’s still time to get involved and make the most of these memorable evenings on the water.
