2023 RGYC Glitz and Glam Ball

“The place was rocking, the glitz was glitzing and the glam was glamming”

“Last Saturday night at the Royal Geelong Yacht Club, saw over 100 guests vying for a spot on the dance floor at the Glitz and Glam Ball. The 12 piece Bash Big Band were pumping out the music (with a guest appearance on the flute from one of our members. I didn’t quite catch his name!) Dinner suits were dusted off and everything from long ball gowns to anything with sparkles graced the space. A delicious two course meal from the Yot sustained us as we danced the night away.

A huge thankyou to the Glitz and Glam Ball working group, the RGYC staff in the office and our fantastic hospitality crew with Nigel at the helm. Also a special thankyou to Tom and Denise Smeaton who captured the night on film for prosperity. Keep an eye out for the photo gallery that will be available soon.”

It was wonderful to see RGYC transformed into a hub of social activity and host a headline social event such as the Glitz and Glam Ball again after a break from such large scale events due to COVID. The Glitz and Glam ball working group were on a mission to create an unforgettable night at RGYC and with everyone “dressed to the nine’s” some delicious food and wonderful music, they certainly succeeded!
