Maya Cantwell represents Australia at the 2023 Optimist Asian and Oceanian Championships

The 2023 Optimist Asian and Oceanian Championships saw 5 days of incredible racing in Abu Dhabi, hosted by the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club.

Many of the world’s top Optimist sailors were present, featuring 161 competitors from 29 countries including 10 Australian competitors!

RGYC Member Maya Cantwell rose through the ranks to secure her finishing position of 138th out of 157 finishers of the championships.

This is an incredible achievement by Maya and we look forward to hearing all about her experience when she returns.
