Update on the OTB and Sailing School Building

Construction on the Geelong Waterfront Safe Harbour Precinct Project OTB and Sailing School Building moves ahead with great momentum. Royal Geelong Yacht Club (RGYC) is pleased to announce that progress has been steady, and we’re right on schedule. Here’s a quick update from RGYC’s Rear Commodore Chris Manton.

Navigating Challenges:

“We anticipated encountering difficult ground conditions, but our team has adeptly managed these hurdles. Fortunately, excavation and piling works were completed without significant issues, and the extent of contaminated soil was less than expected a testament to meticulous planning and execution.”

Recent Milestones:

“As of last week, we’ve achieved a significant milestone with the completion of the ground floor slab. Additionally, precast concrete walls now stand tall, delineating the outline of our upcoming structure. Currently, our focus is on setting up the suspended concrete first floor slab, which is slated for completion by the end of this month.”

Looking Ahead:

“In the coming month, we anticipate further progress as we aim to finalize the second-floor concrete slab. Concurrently, preparations are underway for the arrival and installation of structural steelwork, marking another crucial phase in the project’s development.”

On Track and On Budget:

“We’re proud to report that the project remains well on track and within budgetary constraints. With each passing day, the vision for the building becomes more tangible, thanks to the dedication and hard work of our Consultant Team and Builders Otto.”

As the project progresses, we’re excited to witness the building’s form take shape and to share further updates on the journey toward completion. Stay tuned for more exciting developments as the project continues to come to fruition.
