Celebrating Midweek Marvels Medallions

We can’t go racing without them.

The volunteers who set courses, man the start and finish lines, handle radio communications, and ensure everything runs smoothly are the unsung heroes of our races. Their dedication to making each race efficient and enjoyable is truly a marvel.

This year, VicSail owner Scott Taylor generously sponsored medallions, along with a bag containing a cap and wine, for the skippers in the Foundation Fleet who competed in the seven-race Midweek Marvels pursuit series at RGYC.

In a special recognition of service, a custom medallion was awarded to volunteer Michael Lander on December 4 after the twilight races. The medallion, inscribed with “Series Co-ordinator Michael Lander”, honours his outstanding contribution to the series.

The skippers who competed received medallions inscribed with their placing, yacht name, and skipper’s name. Each medallion proudly reads: “RGYC MIDWEEK MASTERS Foundation Fleet 2024.”

We’re thrilled to announce that the Midweek Marvels series will return in 2025, and we expect the fleet to grow even more.

A huge thank you to our volunteers and sailors who make these races possible. See you on the water! ⛵
