RGYC Foundation Robbie Miller Trophy: Celebrating Legacy and Supporting Our Future

This season, the RGYC Foundation proudly presents the Robbie Miller Trophy, a three-race sub-series within the Twilight Sailing calendar. Honouring the remarkable legacy of Robbie Miller, a lifelong member and Foundation supporter, this series highlights the values he held dear: community, camaraderie, and sailing excellence.

Race Dates:

  • Twilight Race 9 / Foundation Race 1 – Wednesday, 4th December 2024
  • Twilight Race 12 / Foundation Race 2 – Wednesday, 5th February 2025
  • Twilight Race 17 / Foundation Race 3 – Wednesday, 12th March 2025

Participants will not only compete for the coveted Robbie Miller Trophy but also help shine a light on the work of the RGYC Foundation, which continues to shape the future of sailing at our club.

Remembering Robbie Miller

Robbie Miller’s life was one of dedication—to sailing, to RGYC, and to his community. A Life Member of the Club, Robbie was instrumental in establishing the RGYC Foundation, ensuring a lasting legacy for future generations. His extraordinary $500,000 bequest continues to support the Foundation’s mission, with investments funding long-term growth and vital club initiatives.

Through the Robbie Miller Trophy, we honour his memory and his vision, celebrating both his contribution to RGYC and the spirit of generosity he championed.

Support the RGYC Foundation

The Foundation thrives through the generosity of its supporters. All donations to the RGYC Foundation are tax deductible, and contributions of $1,000 or more are recognised by Membership. Your donation helps sustain programs, foster new sailors, and invest in the future of our club. Learn more about the Foundation and how to contribute [here]. And don’t forget—if you see the fleet racing in the Robbie Miller Trophy, give them a wave and remember Robbie’s enduring legacy. Together, we can continue to grow sailing opportunities for all!
