Coaching Programs

The Royal Geelong Yacht Club hosts a range of coaching programs year-round to cater for various levels of sailors, skills and goals.

Coaching programs are available to any sailor who has completed a learn-to-sail program, such as Tackers, OutThere Sailing or Dinghy and Keelboat Start Sailing.

RGYC coaching programs start at Green Fleet through our Sailing Academy and progress through to Advanced Fleet and class-specific squads targeting state, national, and international events. RGYC’s expanding coaching program will ensure sailors, regardless of where they are in their sailing journey, can join in with a like-minded group of sailors, and develop their skills, knowledge, and overall enjoyment of the sport.

RGYC’s coaching programs are delivered by Australian Sailing accredited Instructors and Coaches and follow the Australian Sailing Club Participation Program framework.

Internation Cadet Coaching and Junior Supported Sailing

Junior Supported Sailing is an opportunity on Friday nights for off-the-beach junior sailors to sail with the support of a safety boat. This is not a coaching program or learn-to-sail course, but provides a safe opportunity to meet other sailors, continue learning on the water while having plenty of fun.
