Our Skiff Rowing Crews have been working hard to prepare ahead of the National St Ayles Skiff Championships at the Geelong Wooden Boat Festival from March 9th – March 11th 2024.
Sunday rowing sessions are the current staple training and social session for the two mixed crews looking to hone their skills and fitness ahead of the 2024 competition. These sessions are open for ALL to take part in and may be booked via the RGYC website HERE.
To accompany their regular training schedule the two crews will also be taking a St Ayles Skiff to row with the Warrnambool St Ayles Skiff Community Rowing Club on the Hopkins River in November. From there they will venture to the three-day ‘Steamers Run’ event through the Gippsland lakes. Then they are off to Paynesville Wooden Boat Festival with a multi-day rowing/camping expedition on the Glenelg River.
The Skiff Rowing Community reaches far and wide and it is a fantastic way to enter the world of water and boat sports in a friendly and relaxed environment, whilst enjoying the opportunity to meet new people and get some exercise in!
